Conservatory Blinds - About Pleated Roof Blinds
These days when a new conservatory owner realises that the conservatory they have bought is hotter than their green house they start to look to ways to make it inhabitable. Many times it is possible to find conservatories that are simply not used for the envisaged purpose, as they are too hot, too bright or just not private enough. Let s not forget either that the conservatory is there all-year round and therefore it can get 'like a fridge' in winter.
The choice of blinds is quite wide and it is normally the roof blinds that solve the most pressing issues (ie. light and heat). But even when you look at roof blinds alone there is still quite a choice: roller blinds, pinoleum blinds and pleated blinds are typically found. Often you can have motorised choices as well, just in case you can't reach the roof easily.
The internet is a good place to start looking around for what you want - however it is a good idea to remember exactly why you need blinds in the first place! If it is purely for aesthetic reasons it is just a case of looking at the pictures for the type and style you like. Do beware though that the cost of 'blinding' your roof maybe more than the conservatory cost to build. So do plenty of homework prior to making a decision.
As a general rule though you will find pleated blinds to be the most economical option and there is such a choice of materials that the look and functionality will suit your needs. However even when you have selected the pleated fabric you like there is one other question to ask - " Do you have to drill holes in my new conservatory to fit the blinds"?
See the most common answer to that with most blinds is 'Yes' and that brings up all kinds of issues such as guarantee infringement etc. All is not lost though as if you choose the Perfect Fit option for you pleated blinds there will be no holes drilled at all.
